Plans for construction and ongoing research

Currently we are working with Gerry Sadler and Scott Hobgood to design the layout, exterior design and historic features for our house project in Beaufort. With the help of Mary Warshaw and Mamre' Wilson, we are looking into the history of Lot #55 Old Towne Beaufort, where our house is located, and learning about the early residents.

Belcher Fuller gave the land to his daughter Charity in the early 1800's and she married into the Hatsell family. The land (and subsequently the house built there) has stayed in that family until the present day--almost 200 years! We bought the home from Elaine Hatsell Glover, a resident of Virginia. Her grandfather, Charles Ives Hatsell, built the current house at 119 Orange Street around the turn of the century (1902?), we believe.
